先决条件许可

什么是先决条件??
A prerequisite is a 课程 (or equivalent skills or prior experience) that you must complete with a grade of “C” or better (or possess) before enrolling in a more advanced 课程.  A prerequisite is a 课程 needed before you may register for a subsequent 课程.

什么是先决条件许可?
If you are registering for a “大学 课程 that has a prerequisite and you feel have fulfilled the prerequisite with a 课程 you have taken or currently taking at another college or university, then you can request a prerequisite clearance by 提交:

  1. 先决条件覆盖; or,
  2. 正在修课程; or,
  3. 先决条件的挑战，如果您的先决条件覆盖被拒绝.

If you have already completed the 课程的先决条件 at another college, please follow the steps below to have your prerequisite cleared. 我们强烈建议 网上上门服务 以最快的速度处理. Due to the current high volume of requests, the turnaround time for email requests may take up 10 instructional days during peak registration time. 

If the form requires documentation to support your request, please attach appropriate transcripts to the email in PDF format, unofficial transcripts are acceptable.

Requests without necessary or 适当的文档 will not be processed or will 被拒绝批准.

Note that prerequisite clearance service will be suspended from December 18 until January 11 when we open for the Winter Break schedule.

  1. If you have NOT submitted official transcripts to 招生 和记录 documenting successful completion (grade of C or higher) of the 课程的先决条件(s), have your unofficial transcripts ready to show the counselor during your 在线dropin 会话.

正在修课程

If you are currently taking the 课程的先决条件 at another college or university, 您需要:

  1. 电子邮件 from the instructor with the following information:

    3. The grade the instructor expects you to receive
    4. The instructors title and contact information

For students wanting to take a class that has a 课程的先决条件 requirement and, while you do not have the 课程的先决条件 equivalent from another institution, you would like to take the class based on other reasons. 请 咨询顾问 提交之前的指导 先决条件挑战表.

Reasons for challenging a prerequisite/co-requisite may include one or more of the 后:

  1. A prerequisite is not made reasonably available to a student
  2. A student believes the prerequisite was established in violation of state regulation or in violation of the District approved prerequisite process;
  3. The student believes the prerequisite is discriminatory or being applied in a discriminatory 的方式.  (Discrimination is defined as prerequisite being arbitrarily enforced with some group(s) of students and not with others or having disproportionate impact on 一群特殊的学生.);
  4. Student has documented knowledge and abilities equivalent to those specified in the 课程的先决条件.  学生文件是必需的.
    The student must provide 适当的文档 when filing a challenge form. 文档 may include, but is not limited to, high school or college transcripts, additional test results, work experience, or writing sample. Prior enrollment in the 课程 does not exempt a student from the current prerequisite 当然了. What are some good examples of 适当的文档 to support my challenge?
Examples of 适当的文档 could include: transcripts, 课程 descriptions, work experience, documented skill development trainings or workshops, and/or test 分数. Being a “good student,” “knowing you can pass the class,” and/or needing the class for graduation, athletic eligibility, or insurance purposes are not examples 适当的文档.
